
Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was established in 2000 between Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Belarus, which is now succeeded by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) with the joining of two additional countries Kyrgyz Republic and Armenia. Its purpose was to remove trade barriers in order to set up the legal framework for handling the import – export of goods and reduce or eliminate the customs duty on mutual trade.
Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan are the permanent member of Custom Union (Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU))
Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is a permanent regulatory body of the Eurasian Economic Union. It started functioning on February 2, 2012.
The main objective of the Eurasian Economic Commission is to ensure functioning and development of the Eurasian Economic UNION (EAEU), to prepare proposals for its further integration.
Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan have implemented the TRCU/TR-EAEU regulations at present for mandatory certification for safety and health insurance of imported goods. TRCU stands for – Technical Regulations Customs Union
TRCU/GOST certification is require to provide the free movement of machines and (or) equipment in the common customs territory of the Customs Union/ EurAsian Economic Union (EAEU).
A product may only be put into circulation for the first time in the field/market of EAEU and must be put into operation for the first time if it complies with the essential requirements of all applicable TRCU/GOST.
GOST (ГОСТ) is the abbreviation term for ГОсударственный СТандарт (GOvernment STandard). GOST refers to a set of technical standards maintained by the Euro-Asian Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (EACS), a regional standards organization operating under the supervision of the CIS
Stands for Technical Regulation of Custom Union, Presently renamed TR EAEU – Technical Regulation of EurAsian Economic Union. After Certification of TRCU, Manufacturer can put the EAC mark on product to place the Equipment or machine in EAEU market.
TRCU provides the legal framework for numerous products of safety and health requirements as minimum requirements, which must be complied.
Standard itself was originally developed by the Soviet Union government, however, after the disintegration of the USSR, standards acquired a new status of the regional standards. Since then, more than 20,000 standards were used extensively in 12 countries, serving to regulate countries in the region.
Earlier GOST R simply refers to GOST certificate in Russia, GOST B for Belarus, GOST K for Kazakhstan, and GOST Uz for Uzbekistan and so on.
Other CIS counties like Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Moldova Etc has implemented separate GOST certification System apart from TRCU.
